Mathematical Science at Penn State Harrisburg

Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Sciences

The Mathematical Science program has two options leading to the BS in Mathematical Sciences: Mathematical Sciences and Secondary Education in Mathematical Sciences. The first option provides, through appropriate selection of technical electives, concentrations in Actuarial Science, Management Science/Operations Research, Statistics, and Graduate Study preparation. Each option is a balance of interdisciplinary and disciplinary courses in which the aims are to provide students with a sound foundation in mathematical studies, instill an awareness of the utility of mathematics, statistics, and computer science, develop competency in the use of modern mathematical tools, and nurture in students an awareness that the growth of mathematics is a social necessity-- one in which they can readily participate.
